The Bloomfield Group is seeking a dedicated WHS Officer to join our Safety and Health team. Based at our Rix's Creek Mine, this role plays a key role in partnering with operational teams to effectively and efficiently manage WHS on site. You will provide specialist advice, coaching and support to drive safe work practices and positive safety outcomes.
WHS Officer
The Bloomfield Group is seeking a dedicated WHS Officer to join our Safety and Health team. Based at our Rix's Creek Mine, this role plays a key role in partnering with operational teams to effectively and efficiently manage WHS on site. You will provide specialist advice, coaching and support to drive safe work practices and positive safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of a proactive safety culture through engagement with operational teams to identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective controls
* Provide practical WHS advice and coaching to supervisors and managers to ensure compliance and build safety capability
* Assist with incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions
* Support injury management, including liaison with managers, employees, medical providers and insurers
* Deliver and support WHS toolbox talks, safety briefings and presentations to promote safe work practices
* Build effective relationships with workers, WHS representatives and regulators to address and resolve safety issues
* Maintain WHS records, monitor safety data and contribute to reports, audits, inspections and WHS improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria
* Tertiary Qualifications in Work Health and Safety or related discipline
* Minimum 12 months experience in a WHS role (preferably in mining or heavy engineering environments)
* Experience working within mining or heavy machinery industries
* Sound working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and relevant codes of practice
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
