We are currently looking for a full-time fixed term Educational Content Developer to join our Professional Development team for 12 months.
About the role
The Educational Content Developer will support the design, development and curation of legal educational services to members, non-members and legal support staff. This includes live and on-demand content, such as conferences, seminars, webinars, workshops, elearning, support staff training and other events.
About the team
The Professional Development team sits within the Membership and Engagement Department and is responsible for delivering ongoing legal education to the profession that is relevant, current and responsive to the changing legal landscape. The PD team also delivers the Specialist Accreditation Program, which enables practitioners to gain recognition as an expert in their area of practice.
What you'll be doing
* Support the Legal Education Manager in programming key conferences and CPDs identifying appropriate new topics suitable for development as new live or on-demand courses, including drafting course proposals and learning outcomes for approval.
* Effectively commission and manage relationships with presenters/subject matter experts (SMEs) for conferences and courses. This includes onboarding presenters/SMEs, and providing content and design support as required.
* Collaborate with event coordinators, the Education Development team and other relevant stakeholders on conference content management, and course design and delivery.
* Lead approved course design projects from inception to completion. Where applicable, this includes negotiating development timelines; preparing or overseeing the preparation of supporting materials and interactive elements; drafting course descriptions and other required information for our catalogue; storyboarding; using elearning software to build or proof courses; QA and final delivery.
* Conduct post-course analysis with the view to determine content and delivery improvements, as needed.
* Work with the Education Development team to regularly audit the online CPD library to ensure offerings are relevant and current, including updating materials for existing courses, as needed.
About you
* Completion of a bachelor's degree in education, L&D or law, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in content development for the legal profession.
* Experience working within a professional skills or membership organisation (desirable).
* Demonstrated ability to research, identify training/content needs, and develop materials to meet learning outcomes.
* Ability to structure, engage and present information clearly and interestingly to various audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to develop clear project plans and timelines, regularly communicate with stakeholders and monitor project progress within budget and to required standards.
* Ability to use initiative to plan and organise self and other stakeholders to ensure the completion of tasks.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills.
* Flexible, professional and adaptable to changes in working instructions and project briefs.
* Ability to use information, knowledge, and experience to analyse and form judgements.
* Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles (desirable). Intermediate skills in instructional design software e.g. Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline (desirable).
