Job Description
* Prepare customs clearance declarations for submission to customs in compliance with national regulatory provisions and in adherence to company policies.
* Accurately classify & value import and export products for customs clearance.
* Accurately update system databases with appropriate information.
* Ensure shipments are cleared within specified timeframes in line with approved Key Performance Indicators.
* Liaise professionally and cordially with internal and external customers.
* Respond to all queries in a timely manner as defined by standard operational procedure.
* Complete designated training within specified timeframes.
* Assist with transport operations, booking deliveries, billings and accounting.
* Perform tasks as requested, including but not exclusive to assisting in general brokerage operations.
* Report all aspects of the job to the Brokerage Manager.
Qualifications
* Australian Customs Brokers License, or within 12 months of application.
* Knowledge of government regulations.
* Familiarity with standard operational procedures for customs import operations.
* Experience with ICS and third‑party systems.
* Good geographical knowledge.
* Accounting knowledge.
* International freight shipping terms.
* Possess elements of Expeditors attributes and culture; embrace Expeditors mission statement.
* General mathematical knowledge, including exchange rates, foreign currency, and general ledger.
* Complete understanding of the movement of goods.
* Road transport operational knowledge.
