Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments is part of the HM Consolidated group of business, comprising Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, Bungle Bungle Guided Tours, The PumpHouse Restaurant, Nexus Airlines, Aviair and HeliSpirit.
This role is primarily based at Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments, Kununurra's only 4.5 star self-contained accommodation. The property consists of 60 executive style apartments located within tropical gardens, around a free-from resort style pool.
About the role:
We are seeking a Grounds Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract to provide additional support during the wet season. The Grounds Officer will assist with day-to-day grounds operations, helping to maintain high standards of presentation across the property.
The successful applicant will be comfortable working outdoors in hot and humid conditions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Maintain lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas, including mowing, edging, pruning, and general upkeep.
* Check and undertake basic reticulation repair, while reporting to supervisor any major maintenance requirements.
* Apply fertilisers, herbicides, and pesticides safely to support healthy grounds.
* Keep all outdoor areas clean, tidy, and well presented, including the maintenance of hedges, removal of small trees and branches.
* Complete daily pool inspections, cleaning, and testing, reporting any issues promptly.
* Operate and maintain a range of powered tools and equipment safely.
* Monitor gardening supplies and assist with stock control and collecting supplies as required.
* Assist with general property maintenance, building wash-downs, and site presentation.
* Move furniture and equipment and run errands as required.
* Undertake a range of basic property maintenance duties as required.
The successful applicant candidate will possess the following skills and aptitude profile:
* A minimum of 2 years relevant experience with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
* Landscaping and groundskeeping experience.
* Demonstrates a knowledge of small engines, pumps, landscaping equipment, reticulations systems and pool filtration systems.
* Safety first mindset with awareness of Safety Management Systems.
* Self-motivated with a positive outlook, and ability to contribute to a strong team culture.
* Excellent and professional customer manner with effective communication skills.
* Resilience to heat and remote environments.
* Hold a current Manual C Class Driver's Licence.
The successful applicant must be available to commence in January 2026 until the end of February 2026.
