Financial Accounting Coordinator (Team Leader)
12-month fixed-term contract | 38 hours per week
Salary: $96,581 – $107,122 per annum + super
Location: Regional South West Victoria
We are looking for an experienced Financial Accounting Coordinator (Team Leader) to join our client, a progressive regional local council in South West Victoria, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a great opportunity for a finance professional with local government or broader public sector experience who enjoys leading people, improving processes and contributing to strong governance outcomes. Reporting to the Manager Finance, this role plays a key part in ensuring the council meets its obligations under the Local Government Act 2020, while supporting the delivery of the Council Plan and broader organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include
Supporting the Manager Finance in meeting statutory and regulatory requirementsProviding leadership and day-to-day management of the Financial Services team, with a focus on team engagement, capability and continuous improvementEnsuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial, statutory and management reportingAssisting in the preparation of key reports, including the Annual BudgetDriving sound financial analysis, innovation and good governance practices across the organisation
About You
Previous experience in local government or a similar public sector environment (healthcare or education also considered)Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related disciplineCPA or CA qualification (or working towards)Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar or relevant roleExperience using TechOne and/or FinanceOne is highly regardedStrong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
