We are working with Local Health Districts, Pillars, and Agencies to improve how we detect and respond to risks and to make sure everyone follows consistent security standards. About the Opportunity
As a Cyber Security Education and Awareness Project SME you will help make a real difference in healthcare through designing, coordinating and delivering cyber security education programs, plans and learning materials that support the safe and secure implementation of ICT projects across NSW Health.
This role offers the opportunity to plays a critical part in lifting cyber maturity by building capability, awareness and behavioural change across a complex health environment.
In this role, you will :
• Proven experience in cyber security or ICT, supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated success delivering education and awareness programs in large, complex service environments.
• Drive cyber security education and awareness programs aligned to NSW Health's cyber maturity and risk appetite.
• Design and deliver cyber exercises and simulations, measuring effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
• Develop engaging cyber learning content and metrics to measure reach, engagement and impact.
• Partner with the NSW Health CISO, health organisations and government agencies to deliver consistent, compliant education outcomes.
• Conduct incident management response tabletop exercises for health organisations, strengthening preparedness, coordination and decision making during cyber incidents.
About You
• Proven experience in consulting and delivering cyber awareness or behavioural-change programs in healthcare, government, or high-trust environments.
• Familiarity with key cybersecurity frameworks (NIST NICE, ISO 27001, ASD Essential 8) and human factors principles.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across clinical, technical, and executive audiences.
• Skilled in using data, metrics, and vendor initiatives to measure impact and drive risk reduction.
• Creative learning design expertise, including micro-learning, phishing simulations, gamification, and platforms like ServiceNow or Microsoft Defender.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel within NSW as required.
