The company manages approximately 1,600 hectares of premium cool climate vineyards throughout Australia including Padthaway, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Heathcote and Margaret River regions. It is a growing business focused on producing premium wine grapes from some of Australia's best viticultural areas.
FABAL now has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Vineyard Manager to join our Company at our Clare Valley, South Australia site.
Reporting to the Group Viticulturist, the successful applicant will be responsible for the direct day to day control and will oversee all vineyard operations. Working directly with the CEO and Group Viticulturist you will have strong support to achieve strategic goals.
You will perform a range of duties including:
All aspects of management, planning and coordination of vineyard operations.
- Assist in achieving profitable levels of production
- Monthly & Statutory reporting
- Maintain compliance of Work Health & Safety obligations
- Quality control management
- Planning the resource scheduling
- Budget management and reporting
- Weed management
- Pest and disease control
- Irrigation
- Supervision of labour
- Management of employees
- Liaise with winemakers, neighbours, regulatory authorities and relevant stakeholders.
We are looking for a dedicated hands on and experienced individual. One able to respond to new challenges, maintain strong work ethic and consistently produce leading edge viticultural outcomes.
A Degree or Diploma in Agriculture/Viticulture or similar is desirable along with proven managerial experience, technical knowledge and expertise in all aspects of viticulture.
A salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered for this position.
