As a social worker you can make a real difference in the lives of
young people by working as part of school-based team to support students' wellbeing and mental health.

Multiple roles with flexible options are available.

This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role:

As part of the Student Wellbeing Workforce, we aim to ensure every Queensland state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Workforce work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.

We are seeking to fill the following roles across Metro North Region with appointment being based on your relevant experience and qualification. As a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will offer therapeutic and case management support to students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.

Responsibilities Include:

* Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.
* Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns.
* Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.
* Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service.
* Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.
* Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students.
* Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.

Candidates will be assessed according to these responsibilities, in combination with the respective role description.

About You:

It would be highly desirable to have the following skills and experience:

* You will be able to work autonomously and independently manage a clinical caseload with minimal direction.
* You will be a strong communicator and have great time management skills.
* You will have strong skills and experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams with an ability to manage competing agendas and demands.
* You will be committed to your own ongoing professional development.
* You will have relevant experience in clinical/ mental health/ counselling work and/or work with children, adolescents and families.
* You will be a qualified social worker with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
