Opportunity for an experienced Compliance and Administration Officer to support business-wide duties
Your new company
An established Tasmanian engineering business is seeking a Compliance and Administration Officer to join their Hobart office. This organisation operates across the construction and infrastructure sectors, delivering projects in both public and private environments. With a strong focus on people, culture and continuous improvement, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting business-wide compliance and administration functions.
Your new role
Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure organisational processes are followed, regulatory obligations are met, and compliance frameworks are actively maintained. In addition to a strong compliance focus, you will provide broad administration support to finance operations, engineering and business improvement functions. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, process and accountability while also supporting people across the business.
Your responsibilities will include
* Supporting the ongoing administration and upkeep of the Integrated Management System across safety, health, environment and quality
* Coordinating safety related procurement, equipment and training
* Assessing contractor compliance, licences and inductions
* Maintaining document control systems, forms, templates and registers
* Identifying and implementing improvements to systems, processes and tools
* Providing administration support to finance operations and submission teams
* Assisting with change management and rollout of business improvement initiatives
* Coordinating training and development activities and maintaining training records
* Supporting HR functions including onboarding and offboarding
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate for the role, you will possess the following:
* A minimum of five years experience in a high level administration or compliance support role
* Strong attention to detail with a procedural and methodical approach to work
* The ability to work with project-based teams and hold stakeholders accountable
* Strong internal and external customer service skills
* Confident communication across all levels of a business
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
* Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Experience working with ISO 9001 or other quality systems will be highly regarded
