Role Description
This is a part‐time Bookkeeper role (20–25 hours per week, flexible scheduling) based in Adelaide, with the option to work hybrid once you're settled in. You'll be the person who owns bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business clients — bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, BAS preparation, and keeping Xero files clean and up to date. You'll work closely with our principal accountant and coordinate with our tax specialist to make sure client files are ready for compliance work.
This isn't a data-entry role. We want someone who takes pride in tidy books, can spot when something doesn't look right, and is comfortable being the first point of contact for bookkeeping queries from clients.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
* Owning bookkeeping end‐to‐end for a portfolio of small business clients in Xero
* Bank reconciliation and payroll processing
* Preparing and lodging BAS returns
* Keeping client files organised and ready for tax work
* Liaising directly with clients on bookkeeping queries
* Handing off clean, reviewed files to our accountant for tax work
What We're Looking For
* 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in a public practice or multi-client environment
* Solid understanding of GST, BAS, and payroll obligations
* Someone who is self-directed and comfortable working with minimal supervision
* Good communicator — our clients are small business owners who need straight answers, not jargon
* MYOB experience is a bonus but not required
