SHIFT SUPERVISOR (Bundaberg)
Fulltime – 38 hours a week.
Marquis Macadamias Ltd (MM) owns and operates two of the world's largest macadamia processing facilities with one located in Lismore in Northern NSW and the second, located in Bundaberg Queensland. MM has a global reputation as a supplier of the highest quality macadamia products for the ingredient and retail markets around the world. We are looking to appoint a motivated Shift Supervisor to work in our Bundaberg factory.
Position Description
The Bundaberg Shift Supervisors are responsible for supervising all production related activities at a shift level for Marquis Macadamias. This is a position on a rotating 4 week roster over 3 shifts, 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm and 10pm – 6am.
Accountability
The position reports to the Operations Manager of Marquis Macadamias Bundaberg.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The primary responsibilities associated with the role include:
• Manage Workflows
• Production yield optimisation
• Production labour performance optimisation
• Monitoring and reduction of wastage
• Adherence to general housekeeping and good manufacturing practices
• Workplace health and safety
• Adherence to procedures, standards and food safety
• Monitoring and managing specific production KPI's as directed
• Enact corrective actions resulting from feedback from Quality Assurance
• Ensure timely, honest and accurate completion of production records
• Human Resource issues at shift level (attendance, effort and training)
• Effective and informative handover to the following shift supervisor
• Product identification & traceability
• Other specific tasks as directed
Qualifications, Skills and Selection Criteria
Essential
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in operating related plant and machinery
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience operating food processing equipment and machinery
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, direct, and manage staff
• Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Willingness to learn, initiative, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Project management, time management and planning capability.
• High level of computer literacy with Excel, Word and data software.
• Current first aid certificate
• Current forklift license
• Must be an Australian citizen
Desirable
• 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Direction and Guidance
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Supervisors are primarily responsible for fulfilling the various responsibilities associated with this position. As a self-starter, it is expected that the incumbent will contribute towards improving the effectiveness of systems being managed including the development of new systems where required.
