Head of Technology & Innovation
**Your new company**
My client is a government agency that needs a senior and charismatic leader who can guide their team through transformation, planning, strategy, change and culture building in T&I.
The contractor will be essentially a consultant who can evaluate the present situation and the projects in progress and in the pipeline, along with their potential risks, provide feedback on the organisation and suggest ways to improve the business performance. They should also review the outsourcing of the helpdesk service and its cost-effectiveness.
**Your new role**
**Technology Transformation**:
- Development of a contemporary architecture supporting IT ecosystem and infrastructure that enables business to drive industry change.
- Design and deliver the FastTrack uplift, migrating from the current proprietary system to an improved platform to allow for scalability, improved functionality, user interface, cost-effective maintenance and support.
- Ensure technical competencies and broader capabilities, either directly or through outsourced agreements, for sustainability of the system's environment.
- Provide the technical expertise, management and support to enable streamlining, cost-effective uplift in key shared service systems such as Financials, Learning Management, Case Management
**Business Alignment**
- Ensure alignment to the organisation's strategic plan and supporting IT strategy
- Drive technology innovation to position the organisation to deliver superior industry/ participant/stakeholder service, outcomes and a competitive cost to serve.
- Ensure suitable systems and functionality to support and improve the efficiency of activities, inc. services (CRM/CMS), customer communication, collaboration, workflow and organisation activities and services.
**Financial Management**
- Manage the information technology systems in a cost-effective manner to budget, and to the scope of work and business expectations.
- Continuously monitor and review IT related costs in an effort to drive efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and implement cost models ensuring business benefits and value for money
**To be considered for this role you will need**:
- Proven experience working as Head of Technology or CIO, managing business systems, help desk and infrastructure in a small to medium enterprise.
- Demonstrated experience leading systems strategy and/or planning.
