About The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Controller to join our team based at SA - Osborne Naval Shipyard.
We embrace flexible work arrangements, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Reporting to the Senior Configuration and Data Lead, you will contribute to Configuration Management (CM) practises for the project in accordance with company processes and the project Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
You will be responsible for protecting and handling classified information under Configuration Control in accordance with company and Defence security requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Capturing data and documentation related to a Product in the CM System and ensuring approval status is correct.
* Maintaining accuracy, currency, and completeness of affected CM data / metadata.
* Linking approved documentation, including engineering drawings, to the correct part in the Product Breakdown Structure.
* Managing receipt and processing of data deliverables from Suppliers, Subcontractors or the Customer.
* Assisting in identifying and resolving CM problems, particularly those related to Data & Documentation Control.
* Responding to actions from the Configuration Control Board, as required.
* Contributing to preparation of Project Work Instructions relating to Data Management.
* Providing guidance on document formatting and application of project file naming conventions (including electronic file names).
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Records Management highly regarded.
* Demonstrated experience working in an engineering environment in a Data / Documentation Control (DDC) or CM role, or a technical role involving DDC or CM or involvement, preferably on a defence project or similar.
* Demonstrated experience in data / document / records Management procedures & instructions with a sound understanding of data / documentation control and management principles, and an understanding of CM basics.
* Some exposure to recognised DC/CM tools & associated databases.
* Solid analytical skills.
* Good skills in use of standard Office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
* Good communication skills, written and verbal.
