Urban Design Expert
About the Role
* We are seeking an experienced Urban Designer to lead and manage urban design projects, providing expert advice on planning and development applications.
* The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of urban design principles and planning frameworks, with the ability to assess development proposals and provide high-level advice that supports design excellence.
* This is a full-time position that requires a tertiary qualification in Urban Design, Architecture or Landscape Architecture, and a minimum 8 years experience in urban design within local government or a similar setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse and review development proposals to support high-quality built form outcomes in line with Council's vision.
* Lead and manage urban design projects through all stages from feasibility and concept development to detailed design and implementation.
* Support the promotion of urban design value within Council and the wider community.
What You Need to Succeed
* Expert knowledge of urban design principles and planning frameworks.
* Ability to assess development proposals and provide high-level advice that supports design excellence.
* Tertiary qualification in Urban Design, Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
* Minimum 8 years experience in urban design within local government or a similar setting.
