We have an exciting, newly created Administration Support Officer – Manager Community Services position that reports direct to the Manager Community Services who oversees services that are delivered direct to the community.
Position Overview
Provide administrative and project support direct to the Manager Community Services and to the boarder Community Services Business Unit to improve business operations, services quality and community outcomes in areas like:
- Community Development - Grants, the social policy areas of and the relevant networks/supports for Access and Inclusion, Public Health and Wellbeing, Diversity, Safety
- The Station & Youth Service
- Sport & Recreation
- Library
- Arts - the Regional Gallery, Performing, Arts + Function Centre, Public Art; and
- Community Home Support Program (Community Care).

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to Manager Community Services, responsibilities of this role include:
- Arranging, prioritising and diarising meetings, appointments and other commitments
- Undertaking initial telephone and face to face enquiries, responding where appropriate and in accordance with established procedures
- Reviewing and managing incoming correspondence and emails, drafting routine responses or referring to relevant officers as needed
- Maintaining effective records and document control systems, including file creation, maintenance and archiving
- Assisting with the planning, tracking and documentation of team programs, projects and services in alignment with the portfolio’s strategic and operational objectives
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience providing administrative support direct to a Senior Manager or team in a professional setting
- Demonstrated experience in administrative procedures, preparing correspondence, managing calendars, meetings and administrative workflows
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience supporting service delivery and project implementation in a community setting

The position is offered as a part-time (0.5 FTE), ongoing contract at General Officer Level 3 in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $82,644.00 to $89,243.00 pro rata dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
The part time hours can be negotiated to accommodate school/child care hours.
