Overview
Research Genetic Counsellor – Part Time, 17.5 hours per week. Location: Hybrid, Randwick, Sydney. Work type: Part Time. Categories: Research Infrastructure, Clinical/Medical Research. This position is a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2027 with the possibility of extension. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have full rights to work in Australia.
Responsibilities
* Support delivery of the Diagnosis4All (D4All) program through provision of culturally safe genetic counselling, participant coordination and clinical research support activities.
* Contribute specialist genetic counselling expertise while supporting research delivery, participant engagement and coordination of clinical–research interfaces.
* Work closely with families, clinicians, researchers and community partners; strong participant-facing focus.
Qualifications
* Relevant undergraduate degree with post-graduate qualification in genetic counselling.
* Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the provision of genetic counselling services.
* Demonstrated understanding of the application of genomic medicine in clinical care and research.
* Excellent interpersonal, confidentiality and stakeholder relationship skills.
* Computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
* Commitment to ongoing education and leadership development.
* Capacity to provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students requiring genetics education.
* Excellent time management; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with initiative.
