Seeking a Network engineer to provide daily operational support activities including incident & problem management of the Network and Secure Gateway infrastructure for a large federal government client of DXC Technology.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a member of a team that will be responsible for providing level 2nd & 3rd level operational troubleshooting and management of Network and Gateway devices. The role also involves implementation of projects as required. The flexibility to participate in an on-call and/or Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) roster is also considered part of the role.
The candidate may also be required to interface directly with client representatives, Telco Service providers and on-site Technical support. There is an expectation that the successful applicant will be available to attend a Datacentre to assist with troubleshooting or planned activities, such as equipment installs.
Essential Skills
* Demonstrated working knowledge & experience in Cisco and HPN routing and switching including:
o MPLS
o BGP
o OSPF
o VXLAN
o VRF
o Policy Based Routing
o Cisco /HPE Platforms
* Demonstratedworking knowledge & experience inFirewalls, such as Cisco, Checkpoint, F5 etc.
* Demonstrated working knowledge & experience in WiFi network design, analysis and site surveys in both commercial and mining (LTE) environments
* Demonstrated working knowledge & experience in the design, implementation and support of networking hardware that supports IT and OT networks
* Network troubleshooting skills including packet capture and analysis
* At least 3-5 years prior experience in a network support role in a large organisation
Highly Desirable
* Understanding or experience in Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
* Understanding or experience in VMware NSX-T
* Understanding of Cisco ISE
* CCNP level Accreditation
* Relevant industry certifications including Cisco, Checkpoint, F5
Required Soft Skills
* Excellent problem investigation and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
* Team player, motivated with a strong customer focus
* Demonstrate leadership attributes in being pro-active
