Head Chef – British Pub Theme Kitchen | New Venue Opening in Gungahlin
We're opening a brand-new British-inspired pub in Gungahlin ACT, right in the heart of the precinct with excellent public transport access. Our menu is built on proper British classics, a strong weekend roast program, steak options, and a small selection of British-style burgers.
This is a rare chance to join a new venture early and make your mark on the kitchen from day one.
What you'll be doing
* Leading service in a busy pub kitchen
* Cooking British favourites and classic pub staples with consistency and pace
* Delivering roasts properly (prep, timing, gravy, sides, holding quality)
* Running the pass/section and setting kitchen standards
* Helping train and guide two junior chefs / apprentices
* Keeping prep systems tight, waste low, and the kitchen spotless & safe
What we're looking for
* At least 2 years experience as a Head Chef
* Pub/bistro/high-volume kitchen experience
* Confident with British comfort food + modern pub service
* Able to show leadership and mentor juniors, along with assist management
* Strong prep organisation, calm under pressure
* Excellent food safety and allergen awareness
* Flexible availability across a 7-day venue

* Venue open: 7 days, 11am – 11pm
* Kitchen service: 11am – 9pm
