The Role of a Staff Specialist / Senior Medical Officer
Job Description
* To provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of Integrated Care Services.
* To work in the ED Avoidance model (STREAM) and / or Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to the key responsibilities listed below, the Senior Medical Officer may be directed to provide services as reasonably required by the Professional or Operational Manager.
* To provide medical services to patients in need of emergency care.
* To work with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
This position is Permanent Part Time (60 hours p.f.), with the possibility of working Temporary Full Time (80 hours p.f.) for the first 12 months, which may be extended.
Opportunity for Private Practice
The successful candidate may establish private practice outside of their appointment with local private hospitals.
* The support includes:
* Use of private hospital sessional rooms for practice setup.
* Credentialling and administrative support for private practice.
* Introduction to local GPs, physicians, and surgeons for referrals.
