As a Tailings Facility Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of tailings storage facilities across all stages of their lifecycle. This includes leading risk identification, mitigation, and reporting for tailings infrastructure, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal safety frameworks.
Key responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams on tailings design, construction, and maintenance, overseeing water management and surveillance to uphold operational standards, and applying deep knowledge of TSF design, regulation, and risk management. Strong influencing ability and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders are essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in the design, construction, operation, and monitoring of TSF and water dams
• Technical leadership and independent judgement in driving tailings safety
• Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Deep knowledge of TSF design, regulation, and risk management
• Engineering degree qualification in a relevant discipline (Civil, Geotechnical Soil mechanics, Mining)
About the Role:
This is a permanent position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Cairns or Darwin to Groote Eylandt. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the delivery of safe and efficient tailings operations.
