Mid-Level .NET Support Developer – Adelaide. This is a full‐time, permanent role located in Adelaide, with onsite attendance required at least two days a week.
What you will be doing
We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid‐Level Support Developer with a strong background in .NET development. Experience with COBOL is advantageous but not essential. In this role:
* Support and maintain a legacy COBOL application alongside modern .NET components.
* Contribute to ongoing enhancements and minor updates.
* Work closely with developers, business analysts, and system administrators to ensure stability and performance.
* Participate in on‐call support roster for after‐hours incidents.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support for a COBOL‐based legacy system with .NET components, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and performance improvements.
* Deliver minor enhancements across applications using COBOL, .NET, C#, SQL Server, and web services.
* Investigate and resolve production issues, including on‐call support.
* Monitor system health and performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and contribute to technical design documentation.
* Manage support tickets, including incidents and service requests.
* Participate in server patching, deployments, and implementation activities.
* Balance support work with enhancement tasks and small project contributions.
* Maintain best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
Required Skills & Experience
* 5–6 years of hands‐on experience in .NET development.
* Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, including Web Services/WCF.
* Solid experience with SQL Server, performance tuning and data analysis.
* Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design patterns and methodologies (Agile / Waterfall).
* Experience developing and maintaining web applications using .NET Framework 4.8, with a focus on API development.
* Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation.
* Familiarity with Windows Server administration, IIS, and SSL certificate management.
* Experience with source control systems such as Git and TFS, and exposure to Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with Micro Focus Managed COBOL (desirable).
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Excellent communication skills, engaging both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Strong customer service mindset.
