About the role
You will maintain and enhance outdoor green spaces at Defence bases by sowing, planting, and cultivating a variety of plants, trees, and shrubs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining green spaces and flower beds.
* Preparing garden beds and raising seedlings.
* Weeding, trimming and pruning plants.
* Designing gardens and choosing plants.
* Managing irrigation systems.
* Applying pesticides and fertilisers.
* Sowing and propagating plants, trees, shrubs, flowers and bushes.
* Mowing lawns and operating gardening equipment.
* Prioritising tasks and managing seasonal workloads efficiently.
* Interacting professionally with staff, contractors, and the public.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Knowledge of turf care, irrigation, pruning, and pest control.
* Confident using ride-on mowers, blowers, trimmers, and other tools.
* Ability to identify and fix minor structural or landscape issues.
* Understanding of OH&S practices and safe chemical handling.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
