Social Media And Digital Content Advisor
Assignment duration up to 3 months. Immediate start.
Approx. $60-$65 per hour plus super dependent on experience.

About the role
Government body requires an experienced Social Media Advisor with a focus on content creation and community engagement to join them on a short‑term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 3 months. As the Social Media Advisor, you will develop and manage high‑quality and relevant social media content across multiple channels in alignment with the Communications strategy. The position requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects, and confident communication skills.
Responsibilities and duties
* Creating, editing and publishing social content (stills, videos, reels, stories, carousels).
* Managing content calendars, scheduling posts and keeping assets organised.
* Writing captions and maintaining a consistent brand voice across all platforms.
* Identifying content opportunities and supporting campaigns and launches.
* Filming and capturing content, including attending photo shoots when required.
* Coordinating with internal stakeholders.
* Managing community engagement (comments, messages, community posts, general media monitoring).
* Overseeing paid social content and helping optimise performance through analytics.
* Identifying and communicating potentially negative reputation issues, ensuring Coordinator and Manager are informed in a timely manner.
* Compiling digital media monitoring clippings for inclusion in the weekly newsletter.
* Creating action plans that address potentially negative online discussions and proactively enhance the reputation of the organisation and its activities.
Skills and experience
* Demonstrated understanding of strategic communications and social media, as part of a wider communication campaign.
* Demonstrated experience preparing social media content to foster audience growth and engagement within a government environment.
* Demonstrated experience in reporting on and interpreting social media analytics and understanding trends to foster organic growth.
* Understanding and experience in social media community management is highly desirable.
* Understands the importance of proofreading and attention to detail for social media.
Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Digital communications, Social Media, Communications, and/or equivalent experience gained from working in a government environment.
