The organisation:
The Uniting Church in Australia (the Church) is a large uniquely Australian Christian denomination in Australia with heritage from historical reformed evangelical denominations. In Queensland, the Uniting Church has around 250 congregations and has early childhood, schools, colleges and large community services (such as UnitingCare Queensland and Wesley Mission Queensland).

Position purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Mission Accompany Team (MAT) and the whole of the Ministry & Mission Team.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide admin support for the MAT and the whole of Ministry & Mission Team
* Provide admin support for Frontier Services
* Organise travel arrangements for whole of Ministry & Mission Team
* Record and maintain leave and training records of staff in placements
* Assist with documents for The Hub
* Assist with some events i.e. Commissioning/Induction Services
* Leave support for Ministry and Mission Support Officer
* Possible leave support for other parts of Synod Office
Key performance indicators:
* Compliance with Queensland Synod policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
* Comply with Health and Safety directions and Public Health directions.
* Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.
* Comply with delegations of the Office of Synod where delegations have been permanently or temporarily assigned to the position.

Selection criteria:
Qualifications:
* Certificate 2 in Business Administration an advantage
Experience and skills:
* Proven ability and experience in effectively managing and prioritising the administrative functions and associated activities for staff including the ability to initiate, determine and follow-up work priorities within mandated deadlines.
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written communication skills which reflect the ability to liaise effectively, diplomatically and discretely with all elements and at all levels within the Church, its agencies, community organisations and the general public.
* Proven ability to use initiative, decision making skills and negotiation skills and reliability in operating independently.
* Proven ability to assist with the organisation of meetings, conferences and events.
* Demonstrated proficiency in contemporary computer software applications (Office 365), SharePoint, electronic content management, customer relationships management, learning management systems and internet applications.
* Be personable with a commitment to building strong relationships with key stakeholders/customers across the Church and its agencies, boards and committees of the Synod.
* Responsibility: demonstrated attention to detail, timeliness, analytical and focussed on outcomes.
