The Opportunity
In this role, you will safely transport visitors and residents between Raymond Island and Paynesville.
Your will be responsible for:
* Operating the Ferry in a safe, timely and reliable manner, monitoring vehicles and patrons at all times.
* Conducting pre-start vessel checks and daily maintenance ensuring the Ferry is clean and hazard free.
* Collect applicable fares and check ferry passes.
* Providing excellent customer service to all patrons, while confidently managing and de-escalating conflict when required.
This is a casual position and is based in Paynesville/Raymond Island.
We're looking for someone who has experience commanding a vessel and maintaining equipment. You'll have excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with the general public and the ability to handle conflict.
You will need the following qualifications:
Victorian recreational marine license with the ability to obtain a Coxswain Grade 3 endorsement.
Current First Aid and provide CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009
A current, valid Victorian driver's licence
Applicants with the following skills will be looked upon favourably
Control Traffic with Stop-slow bat
Knowledge of the McMillan Strait and varying sea conditions
Marine engineering knowledge
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
