We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team in the food industry. The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in our food production facility to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role within the food industry and possess strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime
* Conduct preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs completed
* Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as needed
* Adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in the food industry or similar environment
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of food production machinery and equipment
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Minimum Certificate III in a mechanical trade qualification
* Have at least 3 years' experience post apprenticeship in food manufacturing role- Required
