About GCASA:

Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault (GCASA) provides comprehensive sexual assault support and treatment services across Gippsland. Culturally inclusive, GCASA supports diverse communities and operates within a framework protecting rights and dignity. Services include counselling, information, resources, group work, and professional training.

Position Overview:

The Senior Clinician Intake is a leadership role and will collaborate closely with a team of Senior Clinicians with specific areas of responsibility. Senior Clinicians are responsible for GCASA's Clinical Practice under the guidance and direction of the Clinical Manager. Together this leadership team are responsible for Intake, crisis care, counselling, advocacy, sexually abusive behaviour treatment services and prevention/ education.

All positions have the responsibility for overseeing GCASA direct client services, within a trauma informed framework and supporting staff wellbeing. The Senior Clinician Intake will specifically work to ensure that GCASA can continue to be responsive to the needs of our clients. This role has oversight of GCASA's Demand Management Strategy, working with the Intake Team and Client Engagement Services Coordinator to ensure client flow into GCASA's services is managed effectively and with the highest level of quality service provision.

Position responsibilities and duties:

Responsibility for the Clinical supervision and support to GCASA's Intake Counsellor / Advocates working within GCASA's Clinical Intake Team across Gippsland.

Responsibility for the organisation's overall Demand Management Strategy regularly reviewing the effectiveness of the strategy and factors that impact on service flow into GCASA and address any issues arising.

Support and manage the Intake systems and process to ensure that our clients initial needs and prioritisation is captured and recorded within GCASA's Client Record Management Systems.

Ensure that the team is supported with their roles as advocates among legal, medical, government and other systems with the goal of enhancing systemic responses.

Identify the Intake Counsellor Advocate's ongoing professional development and training needs, including Induction and Performance Appraisals.

Plan for Team Meeting Agendas and Minutes and for the teams ongoing wellbeing and support.

Active participation in supervision with the Manager Therapeutic Services.

Contribute to organisational planning, systems management, and quality improvement initiatives.

Contribute to all five pillars of quality with specific focus on those of clinical and positive culture.

10. Maintain accurate and confidential client files and other records, including statistical data entry, which meet legal and ethical requirements.

11. Participate in GCASA community development and community education activities as requested.

12. Hold a small case load as negotiated with the Therapeutic Manager – SASS.

13. Coordination and support of GCASA Group Work as negotiated with Therapeutic Manager SASS.

14. Other duties as requested.

Service specific Duties:

Coordinate consultation to other organisations and attend Child Information Sharing Meetings (CIS) and other professional meetings as needed to provide services that are sensitive to the needs of persons, both those who have been sexually assaulted and are clients of GCASA.

Support the Intake, Assessment and Clinical Pathways for GCASA clients leading GCASA's Demand Management Strategy which includes a central Intake Model across GCASA services.

Ensure a timely and appropriate response to priority groups as identified by GCASA.

Report on program data to meet reporting requirements monthly.

Key Selection Criteria:

Please note: all applications require a written response to the key selection criteria in order to be considered. You will need to show understanding of each requirement and how you align to each requirement with your experience and qualifications.

Degree level qualification or equivalent certification from a nationally accredited provider in social work, counselling, family therapy, or psychology, welfare, or relevant qualifications.

Have two years' experience in providing clinical supervision, and a commitment to ongoing clinical practices.

Demonstrated knowledge of frameworks related to the understanding of sexual assault, including feminist empowerment philosophy and social inclusion theory.

Demonstrated understanding and experience working therapeutically with children, young people, individuals, and families, including those from diverse backgrounds presenting to our service.

Proven ability to manage and communicate with Intake Counsellor/Advocates and key stakeholders to manage risk, safety planning and protective approach.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with team and promote positive team culture and commitment to privacy and confidentiality and knowledge of and commitment to adhering to a professional code of conduct.

Gippsland Centre against Sexual Assault is committed to ensuring that all staff have the required skills and qualifications to conduct the work which they are employed to undertake.

GCASA will ensure that staff are appropriately credentialed and have a defined scope of practice. Staff must provide the following original documentation, or a certified copy, prior to appointment. All staff are required to maintain their registration and credentialing requirements for the period of their employment.

The successful applicant will:

* Be willing if required to travel across the region and to Melbourne as negotiated for training and development

* Hold a current Victorian driver's licence

* Hold a current Working with Children's check

* Provide a current National Crim Check

* Undertake a DFFH Statutory Declaration relating any CP intervention, IVO and court pending.

* Will work Wednesdays to participate in agency meetings
