Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Support Worker
2x Full-time positions, 38 hours a week - Ongoing
T his is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

About the Role
The Social & Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Support Worker provides culturally safe, holistic, and person-centred support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities.
This role aims to strengthen social, emotional, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing by offering practical assistance, connection to community and culture, and referral to counselling and other support services.
The role includes outreach work to the Counselling Hub and other community settings to engage clients, promote wellbeing services, and provide ongoing culturally appropriate support
About You
To be successful, you must have the following knowledge and skills.
* You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
* Tertiary qualifications (minimum level of certificate IV) in a health-related discipline (e.g. mental health, AOD, social work, community work) or working towards.
* Demonstrated experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing social, emotional, or wellbeing challenges
* Experience in delivering early intervention and prevention programs to reduce the impact of mental illness and foster hope for future wellbeing.
* Experience in the direct care delivery and care coordination of mental health, alcohol and other drugs and other community support programs.
* Demonstrated effective verbal and written skills with particular emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, establishing trust and rapport, maintaining confidentiality and record keeping
* Demonstrated competence in use of information technology, internet and desktop applications, e.g. electronic client record systems, Outlook, Word, Excel and database packages.
