John Fawkner Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager for our Emergency Department. Join our supportive team to ensure excellent patient experiences during their care.
About us
Located in northwest Melbourne, our hospital has 186 beds, a 12-cubicle Emergency Department, 4 operating theatres, a 12-bed critical care complex, and a busy Day Procedure Unit. We specialize in orthopaedics, general surgery, medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to the Emergency Department team
* Ensure efficient clinical operations and evidence-based nursing care
* Deliver patient and family-centered care in a team-focused environment
* Mentor and support staff
* Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively
* Undertake direct patient care as required
* Ensure compliance with ACQSHC standards
Qualifications & Requirements
* Current registration with AHPRA
* Working with Children check
* Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
* Postgraduate qualification in critical care and experience in a critical care setting
* Interest in developing management skills
* Management degree or working towards (desirable)
* HR management experience and knowledge of labour management
* Excellent communication skills
* High standard of clinical and customer care
* Computer literacy including MS Office and databases
* Ability to work cohesively within a team
