About The Role
This position plays a key role in integration, solution design, and as a bridge between business and technical functions, and working collaboratively across Council to champion our purpose of Growing Townsville and to deliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the Townsville Community. This position is accountable to the Chief Digital and Information Officer and will be focused on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community; growing and managing customer relationships, developing a culture of customer-centricity and personal accountability; and reshaping how we deliver services to maximise value.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
Advanced IT technical systems integration experience, with an additional 10+ years relevant industry experience / discipline knowledge in a similar position, with degree qualifications in IT / Business highly desirable.
Exceptional people management and resource coordination skills, with demonstrated ability in effectively managing, leading, and coaching teams of customer service professionals operating in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment across multi-channel / function IT services.
Expert knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows, management, and integration tools across a large technology / system stack.
Demonstrated outstanding contemporary leadership skills and behaviors, with the proven capacity to work collaboratively with the Leadership Team, to positively engage across the Divisions and with key stakeholders to develop innovative strategies, policies, plans and projects to achieve Council's priorities and aspirations (both regional and organizational).
Proven understanding of and ability to align quality service provision with the creation of unparalleled customer experiences, both within and external to the organisation.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution and assertiveness to resolve issues and meet changing organisational needs.
Extensive experience in managing complex projects with demonstrated achievements in planning, design, governance, cost management, implementation, commissioning, and reporting.
Exceptional personal drive, integrity, and commitment as a team player, operating successfully to deliver the priorities of the elected Council, especially for those accountabilities that sit outside the specific divisional remit.
A strong ability to act as a technical conduit between delivery, strategy, and operations, providing specialist advice, translating / transitioning work to IT operations, and building team capacity / capability in adapting and servicing current and new technologies in a complex technical environment.
