About the Role

* This position is situated within the Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) Program, which provides intensive and time-limited care for vulnerable children and young people in statutory care.
Therapeutic Specialist Responsibilities

* The Therapeutic Specialist provides therapeutic leadership and trauma-informed interventions based on sound practice expertise and contemporary research to deliver positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
* They are a member of the Clinical Program and report to the Principal Practitioner.
Job Description

* Provides therapeutic leadership and trauma-informed interventions to deliver positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
* Maintains a sound understanding of trauma, attachment, and developmental needs.
* Liaises with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care plans.
Key Selection Criteria
">
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
* Appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
* Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a higher degree in psychology at master's level (preferred).
* Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent, and family clinical practice, family therapy, and systemic thinking (strongly preferred).
