An exciting opportunity is available for an Integration Platform Tech Lead (Senior Developer) to join our Digital and Technology Solutions team on a Continuing (Permanent) Full time basis, in the Cloud Platform Engineering team.

**Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE)**

In your new role in CPE, you will be able to work on a brand new platform in an idealist environment which is co-designed by AWS engineers and experts in the field. You will lead and guide the development of Curtin University's future integration platform and establish the future state solution. This is a great breakthrough opportunity to step up and work with brand new technology, with the freedom to implement modern and innovative design patterns

The Lead Developer (Tech Lead) is responsible for technical leadership and coordination of the Integration Platform product. The Tech Lead works closely with the Product Owner to turn prioritised capabilities into technical implementations, as well as contributing to the roadmap by identifying opportunities for improvement and future features. The role will directly perform development tasks and work closely with the wider agile team and DTS, whilst also providing guidance and coordinating their team, acting as the first escalation point. The Lead Developer is responsible for ensuring that the development team has the right support and technical capabilities in order to perform in their role, providing an experienced and motivational force for the development team to achieve their best work. This role will be the conduit between the development team and management or leadership areas.

**Primary Goals**:

- Lead development efforts including setting the technical vision for the platform and assist Solution Architect in defining platform architecture
- Lead and evangelize development standards within the team, including code standards and development ways of working
- Maintain a forward-looking view on emerging technologies as well as assessing the suitability of introducing such technologies, processes, tooling and frameworks into the team
- Understand the technical goals and vision of DTS strategic projects and other development teams at Curtin to ensure alignment

**Essential Criteria**:

- Strong Critical Code Review skills - style, syntax and function
- Good working knowledge and experience in software development, specifically in AWS:

- Lambda, Step Functions, Logging, Cloudwatch, SQS, SNS, S3, Kinesis, SNS, Firehose, API Gateway, AppSync and others
- Good knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration in AWS
- Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or CDK)
- Git & Pipelines
- Experience with integration patterns & coding standards
- Knowledge of good software development practices & principles
- Design documentation & process design
- TDD, testing principles and experience writing automated tests
- Event Driven Architecture and APIs

**Desirable Criteria**:

- AWS Developer Associate, AWS DevOps Professional certification and other relevant certifications
- Experience using JIRA & Confluence
- Mulesoft experience
- Docker experience
- Typescript, Python, Bash Script, Java and DataWeave for Mulesoft
- Unit/Integration Testing Frameworks: Jest, Pytest, Junit
- Design, development, improvement and support of integration solutions
