Overview
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026. Lead, inspire, and shape the future of creative and technological learning. We're looking for a Head of Instruction – Arts and Technology to provide leadership, foster innovation, and support staff and students in achieving their potential.
Responsibilities
* In collaboration with the Principal and administrative team, provide educational leadership by developing and promoting the school vision, and encouraging staff, volunteers from the community and others to share ownership of the school's vision and goals.
* As the Head of Instruction - Arts - Technology, ideally:
* Use the operational plan and effective change strategies to lead the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved service in student support areas.
* Facilitate workforce effectiveness and act as a role model for self-development to improve professional performance.
* Contribute to the development of the school plan through participative decision making, including policy development and establishing and maintaining systems.
* Establish and manage administrative and operational systems in the area of responsibility to ensure effective operation within departmental policy and guidelines.
* Manage programs, curriculum areas and/or portfolios relating to:
o Positive behaviour
o Effective teaching
o Strong attendance
o Personalised learning
* Undertake administrative duties related to the area of responsibility.
* Be accountable for the effective daily management of the designated area of responsibility.
* Liaise extensively with the Principal, Associate Principal, Deputy Principals and relevant specialist staff.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students' families and internal and external stakeholders.
* Undertake teaching duties as required.
* Monitor and manage staff leave entitlements to ensure accrued leave is cleared within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with relevant awards, agreements and Departmental policy.
* Manage staff performance in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standard and Departmental policy.
