About the role
As Associate Director Walsh Bay Precinct, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, including events, programming, and site activities, to ensure the precinct functions smoothly and continues to thrive as a vibrant, accessible, and culturally significant destination. The role leads place activation and precinct management, working closely with stakeholders to deliver coordinated, precinct-wide initiatives that enhance the visitor and customer experience.
You will be the key point of contact for the precinct, overseeing its day-to-day operations and ensuring a seamless experience for tenants, visitors, and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include managing contractor coordination, work requests, outdoor space access, loading dock strategy, noise monitoring, digital signage, security, and shared public spaces.
You will lead onsite projects and activities, identifying opportunities for cultural tenants, retailers, and venues to leverage the precinct's offerings. This includes managing project teams, budgets, and contractors to deliver against milestones while ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, legislation, and quality standards.
A critical part of the role involves building strong relationships with cultural tenants, government agencies, service providers, and the local community. You'll facilitate information sharing, resolve operational challenges, and provide informed advice to support activations and programming aligned with strategic plans. Additionally, you'll champion continuous improvement across operations, ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance at all times.
About you
You are a strong and collaborative leader with exceptional stakeholder management skills and a strategic operational mindset. You have extensive experience managing complex precincts or facilities with multiple stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience in precinct, facilities, or operations management, including contractor coordination and project delivery.
* Strong understanding of governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and health and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical solutions and continuous improvement.
* Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and competing priorities effectively.
Your ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery will ensure the precinct remains vibrant, safe, and well-managed, supporting cultural tenants and enhancing visitor experiences.
