Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings and tracings using CAD command and data entry methods under direct supervision.
- Operate plotters and other output devices to generate hard copies of drawing files.
- Engage in design preparation activities including PC board path layout, internal and external packaging, and control panel layouts.
- Maintain CAD files: ensure proper management, updates and storage according to company guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical team members to understand design requirements and specifications.
- Implement revisions: apply changes directed by engineers or supervisors, ensuring accuracy in CAD drawings.
- Follow supervisory guidelines to meet technical and design standards of the organization.
- Check and verify accuracy and completeness of drawings before submission.
- Stay current with latest CAD technologies and software updates to improve efficiency and quality.
- Report progress and issues to supervising staff to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be a US or Australian citizen.
- Must have a minimum of a BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years technical drafting/design training from an accredited technical school or military training and 4 years prior drafting experience.
- Experience managing similar USG projects of comparable size, scope and complexity.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced workplace with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Clearance
Must possess an active US Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph or AUS PV Security Clearance.
Location
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400‑acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
