As an Apprentice with UltraTune, you will participate in a structured training program to develop your technical skills, knowledge and combine that with working with our experienced technicians to learn all things automotive.
Your day to day will see you performing a range of duties including minor servicing of light vehicles, performing tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections, using and maintaining tools and equipment all while keeping the workshop clean and tidy.
You will have a perfect mix of both learning in the workshop and learning at trade school guided by fully qualified trainers.
Our four-year Apprenticeship Program will allow you to develop your skills, experience and knowledge to fulfil your dream of becoming a fully qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic.
What you'll be doing:
* Gain knowledge on basic vehicle diagnostics and guided fault findings with the appropriate diagnostics tools.
* Provide high-quality mechanical services and repairs to a range of vehicles.
* Assist other team members in completing repairs, ordering parts, or supporting customers as necessary.
* Develop the necessary skills and competencies whilst completing studies to obtain recognition as a certified technician.
* Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and suspension systems.
* Preform scheduled maintenance and inspections to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
* Maintain meticulous and accurate records of work carried out.
* Ensure workshop, tools and equipment is kept clean, tidy and well-organised to support efficient operations.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant automotive industry regulations and safety standards.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, techniques, and industry regulations.
What we're looking for:
* Current and valid manual driver's licence or close to obtaining one is preferred.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
* A certificate II in Automotive is an advantage but not essential.
* Keen attention to detail and a commitment to provide the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
* Excellent problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
* Must be an Australian Citizen.
* Own reliable transport to and from work.
* Strong work ethic, an ability to take instructions, and a willingness to listen, learn and continuously improve.
* Mechanically minded with a genuine interest in the trade.
* Commit to a Full time 4 year apprenticeship, including practical studies.
* Ability to follow safe work practices.
* Honesty, trustworthiness, punctuality and professional presentation always.
