Are you a Nurse Practitioner looking for a fresh start, a warmer climate, and a role with real purpose? Serco is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to join our civilian health teams at Lavarack Health Centre in Townsville and Enoggera Health Centre in Brisbane, delivering high-quality care to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel.
Lavarack is a full-time, Monday–Friday role (07:30–16:00). Enoggera is part-time, Monday and Tuesday (07:30–15:30). Both offer the opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary team while enjoying the Queensland lifestyle.
Responsibilities
- Leading patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care planning
- Managing relevant patient clinics as required (e.g. pre-admission and vaccination clinics)
- Prescribing medications and vaccinations, and ordering diagnostic tests
- Providing advanced clinical expertise and acting as a key decision-maker in care pathways
- Driving improvements in clinical practice, policies, and interdepartmental collaboration
- Contributing to quality assurance through audits, clinical reviews, and health surveillance initiatives
To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Have
- A Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) qualification
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and Endorsed Nurse Practitioner
- Recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a general adult acute or primary healthcare environment (minimum 2 years in the last 5 years)
- Australian Citizenship (required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance)
Note: You do not need to be enlisted in the ADF to work on-base. Your role remains in Australia, even if Defence personnel are deployed.

- Townsville (Lavarack) – Australia’s largest Army base, with access to the reef, rainforest, and relaxed coastal living.
- Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members

- Enoggera Health Centre is located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, and provides support to Gallipoli, Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks. Established in 1908, this up-to-date military base currently spans 600 hectares with approximately 8000 members. The largest base in South Queensland, it incorporates the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, a major manoeuvre formation, local support facilities and a range of training facilities. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services
