About the Role A leading national specialty retailer is seeking a Planning Assistant to support the Merchandise Planning team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role plays a key part in driving commercial outcomes through accurate forecasting, inventory optimisation, and insightful analysis across the product lifecycle. Working closely with Planners, Buyers, Supply Chain, Marketing and Store Operations, you will help ensure stock is in the right place at the right time to support sales, promotions and customer demand. Key Responsibilities! Stock Management Create, check and approve replenishment and purchase order proposals within agreed timelines Liaise with suppliers and logistics partners to manage stock availability and resolve supply issues Support stock allocations to maximise stockturn and availability Maintain accurate inventory data across systems Monitor deliveries, investigate discrepancies, and support DIFOT outcomes Assist with new store purchase orders, promotional forecasting and satellite fulfilment hubs Identify slow-moving stock and support clearance or action plans with the Planner Analysis & Reporting Analyse sales, stock turnover and like-for-like performance to identify trends and risks Review replenishment performance against sales Prepare regular reports to support planning and buying decisions Track supplier performance and competitor activity, sharing insights with stakeholders Store Support Monitor store inventory performance and support store teams with data and allocation queries Assist with distribution knowledge and store ranging changes Proactively identify and resolve inventory and data integrity issues Support decisions based on changing store demographics and performance trends Workplace Health & Safety Adhere to safe work practices and support WHS standards Contribute to hazard identification and incident reporting where required About You Strong analytical and numerical capability with high attention to detail Comfortable working with data, reports and inventory systems Collaborative and confident communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally Commercially minded with a proactive, problem-solving approach Intermediate Excel skills and strong digital fluency preferred Retail, planning, allocation or supply chain experience highly regarded Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term, Full Time If you’re looking to grow your career in merchandise planning and enjoy working in a dynamic, purpose-led retail environment, we’d love to hear from you - call Chelsea for more information on 0490 042 434
