As an agricultural enterprise manager, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing daily operations. This encompasses managing livestock, crop cultivation, and fruit and vegetable production.
Crop Production
Main tasks involve performing annual procedures for cultivating a variety of crops such as grains, oilseeds, sugar cane, cotton, fruits, and vegetables. You will be responsible for preparing or assisting with preparation of forecasts, business plans, and operational strategies.
Livestock Production
Manage breeding and raising of beef and dairy cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, and poultry. Key aspects include ensuring good animal health through provision of adequate quality and quantity of pasture and other feed.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit, supervise, and train farm staff to optimize performance.
* Maintain production and other farm records including estimated operating costs, ordering of farm inputs, marketing of produce, and monitoring of animal health and feeding requirements.
* Control production costs in line with operational objectives.
* Produce crops and/or livestock to achieve volume, quality, and cost targets.
* Clean and maintain buildings, sheds, equipment, and facilities to ensure health standards and high-quality produce.
* Implement measures to minimize environmental degradation, monitor the environmental effects of farming activities, and repair existing damage.
This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
