Kerry Street Community School is seeking a
Treasurer
to join our School Board. This is a voluntary position and a wonderful opportunity to strengthen your governance skills while helping guide the future of our unique democratic school.

Kerry Street Community School is a small, vibrant independent school in Hamilton Hill, Western Australia. With over 40 years of history, we are known for our child-centred approach, inclusive community, and strong commitment to sustainability, social justice, and authentic relationships.
The Kerry Street Community School Board is responsible for the governance of the school. As a not-for-profit independent school, the Board plays a crucial role in setting strategic direction, ensuring compliance, and overseeing financial health and long-term sustainability. The Board is made up of parents and community members working closely with the Principal and staff to ensure the school continues to thrive.
The Role of Treasurer
* Attend two evening Board meetings per term
* Attend two Finance Sub-Committee meetings per term
* Provide financial oversight and advice to support Board decision-making
* Review financial reports, budgets, and compliance documents prepared by our Business Manager
* Help ensure the school's finances remain transparent, accountable, and aligned with our strategic direction
Who You Are
* Experienced or confident in financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping
* Detail-oriented, with a commitment to good governance
* A collaborative team player who values community-based education
* Prior Board or committee experience is welcome but not essential
