The role
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Services, your primary responsibility will be to support our operational team in a dynamic work environment which requires you to roll up your sleeves and think on your feet. You will be accountable for site mine engineering and technical services activities, operational and mine reconciliation reports and the preparation and delivery of mining plans across several time horizons.
Responsibilities
- Supporting mine design including pits, waste dump staging and modifications, other infrastructure designs
- Delivering D&A pattern designs, load plans, tie-in plans, post blast analysis & heritage packs.
- Providing technical contribution to the development and submission of operational License and Approvals Process
- Acting as the primary owner of process and practice improvement between the mine planning and operations team
- Delivering the Two-Week & Three Month Mine Plans including development of planning inputs, stakeholder engagement, and summaries of physicals, outputs and future requirements
- Providing project management support to small and medium scale projects
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities within the shortterm and tactical planning horizons, including relevant deepdives to support management decisions
- Perform mining related daily data entry as required
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline
- Experience and knowledge of mine operations in the resources industry, preferably in an open cut metalliferous environment
- Unrestricted Quarry Managers ticket is highly regarded
- Competency with major recognised mine design and scheduling software such as Surpac, APS, ATS or similar
- High level of communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills
