The Data Engineer sits within Comcare's Chief Data Office (CDO), responsible for ensuring a sophisticated approach to data management and use.

The Data Engineer plays a key role in operationalising the data platform for business areas, collaborating closely with ICT Engineers, data modellers, analysts, and business stakeholders. Success requires effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, integrating diverse data types, designing, building, and testing data products, including semantic layers and pipelines incorporating governance and quality assurance practices.
This role contributes to Comcare's priorities, informing evidence-based decision-making through data-driven change, supporting high-priority enterprise-wide programs, and activities contributing to organisational data maturity uplift.
Data Engineering skills required include strong analytical skills, programming knowledge, experience with data architecture, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
