About the Role The purpose of this role is to provide expert analysis, programming and leadership of software changes to a suite of VCAA custom built applications that are used to run assessments in Victoria, including VCE, VET, VPC and NAPLAN. Proven experience and efficiency in the following group of technologies is required: .NET, ASP.NET with MVC, C#, web services, Powershell, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, MS SQL Server or Oracle database and PL/SQL. The main focus of application development will be the Victorian Assessment Software System (VASS) - a web-based interface that is used to provide information to / gather information from Victorian schools. The front end of the application is being updated to match current web design standards. The interface (currently developed in ColdFusion) is also being rewritten using ASP.NET Core. The new version of the front end is being developed from scratch, so it is critical that the successful applicant is confident in setting up the core requirements for a .NET web-based application including architecture (layered, clean, domain drive), authentication, authorisation, SSO (OAuth2.0/OIDC, SAML2), security and system deployments. As a senior member of the development team, the position will also be responsible managing 1-2 small to medium IT development projects each year. Providing on call support during critical business processing periods is a requirement of this position. This is an ongoing full-time opportunity.
