About the role: Do you possess a high level of computer literacy and keen interest in technology? Are you experienced in, or capable of developing an expert understanding of online information collection techniques? Are you experienced in identifying, researching, and developing solutions to emerging technological problems? Are you experienced in the development and delivery of training, or capable of verbally presenting technical or OSINT (or similar) concepts to a variety of audiences? If you answered yes to one or more of the above, Victoria Police has an exciting opportunity on offer for a talented all-rounder. Working collaboratively as part of a small team within a multi-disciplinary unit and reporting to the Unit Manager, you will be developing and delivering investigation/intelligence gathering training focusing on the use of OSINT related techniques and information sources. You will also be responsible for conducting tasked and proactive research and working on a variety of technology focused projects. You will identify emerging trends and develop solutions to address them, and your work will play an important role in enhancing organisational capability for the purpose of community safety. Some travel within Victoria may be required including overnight accommodation. Occasional interstate travel may also be required. Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements. Your duties will include: * Researching and developing techniques and solutions to emerging issues and trends in the OSINT and online environment and assessing their impact on Victoria Police capability and community safety * Ongoing development and delivery of training content to a variety of audiences * Maintaining a contemporary understanding of the OSINT and online environment * Undertaking technically focused research and development projects, activities and other portfolios at the direction of the Unit Manager * Assisting with the preparation of training materials including managing course logistics * Providing expert advice to Victoria Police employees regarding OSINT related information collection and investigation techniques and related policy * Participating as part of the broader Unit in various projects * Assisting with the maintenance of IT equipment used for training. About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Essential * Degree or vocational qualification in education or training and assessment is essential * Experience in the development and/or delivery of training programs, or possess transferrable skills * Possess a current Driver Licence Highly desirable * An excellent understanding of OSINT and/or the online environment and the use of technology for investigations and intelligence gathering * A high level of computer literacy. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Effective research and analytical skills * High level stakeholder engagement and management skills * A proven ability to work effectively in a small team environment Further Information: * One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available. * This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. * The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
