We are looking to fill multiple roles in Dental Assisting and Reception.
About the business and the role
Pialba Dental is a long established, family oriented dental practice in Pialba, Hervey Bay.
We are expanding our team and seeking a positive, friendly and professional Dental Assistant who aims to provide high levels of care and exceptional patient care.
We are looking for a positive and professional dental assistants/receptionists with great customer service skills.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same.
You'll be working closely with dentists and the wider team to deliver excellent clinical care while helping patients feel confident and cared for.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Dental Assistant duties include, but are not limited to:
Chairside assisting for surgical and restorative procedures (crowns, implants, extractions)
Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms and sterilisation protocols
Assisting with digital workflows, including scanning, lab coordination, and use of clinical software
Supporting patient comfort and post-op care
Managing stock and maintaining a clean, safe environment
Reception duties include, but are not limited to:
Greeting patients and managing appointment bookings
Processing payments, health fund claims, and HICAPS transactions
Answering phone and email enquiries in a professional, caring manner
Coordinating with dental clinicians to ensure smooth daily operations
Maintaining accurate patient records and following privacy protocols
Supporting patient recalls, treatment plan discussions, and follow-ups
Skills and experience
The role will require adaptability to a diverse range of dental procedures from simple exam appointments to complex oral rehabilitation implant procedures.
A positive attitude, good work ethic, great communication skills, be self-motivated, reliable, keen to learn/adapt and be a good team player.
A minimum of 1 year Chairside assisting experience and a Certificate III in Dental Assisting is highly regarded.
Ideally the applicant will be able to work with a flexible roster and cover additional shifts when required.
