The Role
This position is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Financial Reporting function and implementing the strategy and direction for the function, as provided by the Head of Finance and CFO. In addition, the role shall identify and implement systems, polices and processes for the Financial Reporting function which will improve financial monitoring, accountability and growth across the group.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:-
* Prepare monthly management accounts with comprehensive variance analysis and commentary.
* Manage the month-end close process and oversee income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare the annual budget and maintain rolling reforecasts. Additionally, prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
* Provide insightful P&L analysis to support operational decision-making.
* Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
* Implement cost control measures to optimise operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses.
* Ensure strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations, compliance requirements, and tax laws to ensure the organisation's adherence to relevant rules and regulations. Embed governance practices.
* Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support for professional growth and development.
* Continuously improve financial systems and processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
Skills and Experience
* A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce, coupled with CA/CPA qualifications
* Big 4 background in Audit or Business Services
* Strong knowledge of current Australian Accounting Standards
* Advanced knowledge of Excel
* Knowledge of current accounting standards and practices and taxation laws
* A proven understanding of financial systems
* Advanced excel skills
* Demonstrated accuracy in production of reports
* A proven understanding of group consolidation entries and intercompany transactions
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* The ability to be self-motivated and work both autonomously and within a team
