The opportunity:
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a positive workplace culture by delivering practical HR solutions that align with the organisation's values and strategic objectives. You'll also collaborate on initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, retention, and development while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with managers across a dedicated portfolio to provide expert HR advice and support.
* Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting contracts and facilitating inductions.
* Guide leaders through workforce planning, onboarding, probation reviews, and employee exits.
* Provide timely advice on HR policies, procedures, Modern Awards, and employment matters.
* Monitor and report on key metrics such as performance reviews, absences, and probation periods.
* Assist in maintaining accurate position descriptions and workforce planning documentation.
* Manage return-to-work processes and injury claims in line with legal standards and best practices.
* Collaborate with the Learning & Development Manager to deliver compliance training programs.
* Contribute to employee engagement initiatives focused on retention, recognition, and development.
* Maintain accurate employee records, generate HR reports, and improve HR systems functionality.
* Promote the use of HR tools across the organisation to streamline processes.
Key Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline; or equivalent experience in a generalist HR role supporting managers across the employee life cycle.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a generalist HR role with demonstrated capability in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
* Strong working knowledge of employment legislation with the ability to interpret Modern Awards effectively.
* Proven experience in analysing HR data and generating meaningful reports for decision-making purposes.
* Hands-on experience using integrated HRIS platforms such as Sage People or similar systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation delivery.
* Ability to manage competing priorities under varied levels of workplace pressure while maintaining professionalism.
* Strong influencing, coaching, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to support leaders effectively.
* Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, integrity, and sensitivity toward diversity and inclusion principles.
* A collaborative working style with a focus on teamwork and achieving shared goals within the organisation.
