About the Role
The Friends' School is seeking a committed and experienced Lead Educator – Friends' Early Learning to join our Early Learning team on a full-time basis (38 hours per week, RDO roster).
This leadership role is responsible for leading and supporting a team of educators to deliver high-quality early learning programs in a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment. The successful applicant will play a key role in program design, child safeguarding, team leadership, and fostering strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
The Lead Educator will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and the Purpose and Concerns of The Friends' School, while promoting reflective practice, continuous improvement, and a strong child-safe culture.
Key Focus Areas
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators to deliver high-quality early learning programs.
* Design, implement, and evaluate developmentally responsive, play-based learning programs.
* Champion child safeguarding, mandatory reporting, and a strong child-safe culture.
* Build genuine, caring, and professional relationships with children and families.
* Ensure effective supervision of children and support colleagues across the centre.
* Promote positive behaviour guidance strategies and inclusive practices.
* Maintain accurate documentation of children's learning, wellbeing, and progress.
* Ensure compliance with the National Law, National Regulations, and National Quality Standards (NQS).
* Actively contribute to and implement the Friends' Early Learning Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
* Support centre operations, health and safety practices, and professional learning activities.

Essential Qualifications
* ACECQA-recognised Early Childhood qualification (Certificate III minimum; Diploma or Degree preferred).
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment category).
* Current National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months).
* ACECQA-approved First Aid, CPR, and Child Protection certification.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in a leadership role within an early learning setting.
* Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams, support reflective practice, and drive continuous improvement.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
* Ability to work safely and effectively in an early learning environment.
* Strong alignment with the Purpose & Concerns and Quaker ethos of The Friends' School.
