About The Role
As an Environmental Services Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the hospital in line with strict infection control guidelines. Your work will help ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for patients, staff, and visitors. You will also assist with stock control, equipment care, and general departmental support.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness across all hospital areas in accordance with infection control guidelines.
* Make beds and prepare patient rooms as required.
* Follow all infection control procedures and hospital hygiene standards.
* Work cooperatively with your team while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
* Be available to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays on a rotating roster.
About You
We are seeking a reliable, detail-focused team member who is committed to maintaining a hygienic and safe environment.
What You Will Bring
* Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience (healthcare experience highly regarded).
* Knowledge of hygiene practices, infection control, and Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
* Strong time management skills, efficiency, and the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
* A proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
Desirable
* Experience with decontamination of beds and ward equipment.
* Ability to identify and report hazards promptly.
* Willingness to perform other ad hoc duties as required by management.
