Job Summary

This role involves overseeing daily operations in a small team responsible for fabricating electronic RFID readers. As a Senior Technical Operator, you will be accountable for monitoring and supporting factory performance, machinery operation, and quality control.


Detailed Responsibilities

* Supervise shift operations to ensure efficient production and high-quality output
* Monitor and support factory performance by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
* Troubleshoot machinery and respond promptly to operator requests to minimize downtime and optimize productivity
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning to maintain a safe and clean work environment
* Promote production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, and waste reduction to drive continuous improvement
* Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental Health & Safety policies and proactively report hazards to prevent accidents and injuries
* Assist the Team Leader with task planning and technician support to ensure seamless operations
* Complete production reports and maintain clear communication and records to facilitate informed decision-making
* Maintain production area tidiness aligned with 5S and Lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
* Raise maintenance issues promptly and monitor product quality, isolating defects to prevent rework and improve overall quality
* Report disruptions and recommend improvements to procedures, machinery, and training to enhance operational efficiency
* Lead improvement initiatives and support performance management and training to drive personal and team growth


Requirements

* Experience managing teams in production is preferred but not essential (full training provided)
* Strong time management, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role
* Advanced verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and leadership
* Excellent organisational skills and PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook) are necessary to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* Emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience, and adaptability are critical for building strong relationships and navigating complex situations
* Ability to collaborate across teams and demonstrate inclusive behaviours to foster a positive and supportive work environment
* High ethical standards and responsible use of company assets are expected to maintain a culture of integrity and accountability
